Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth in association with Centre for Public Policy Research (CPPR) will host a live webinar on ‘COVID-19 & Urbanisation: Reimagining our Urban Development Goals’ on Tuesday, 9 June 2020 at 3:00 pm IST.

Speakers

Raj Cherubal is the CEO, Chennai Smart City Limited. He is also Director-Projects for Chennai City Connect (CCC). At CCC, he has facilitated various projects on traffic, sustainable transportation and urban planning. He has written extensively and worked to promote decentralisation and good urban governance.

Praseeda Mukundan is Senior Research Associate at CPPR. She is an Architect, and Urban and Regional Planner from the School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal. Praseeda has been a Consultant for RURBAN Mission, Department of Panchayat and Rural Development, Government of Madhya Pradesh.

The panelists will discuss what can be the learnings from the current pandemic in overall urban development as well as urban sectors like transport, health, livelihood, housing and utilities. How are Smart Cities equipped to address these challenges? Should there be a ‘next level’ to the Smart Cities’ Mission objectives?
