An Online Teacher Training Workshop

The workshop focuses on the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on teaching and learning, and discusses methods and strategies of coping with the changed scenario that educators will be facing in the coming months.

  • 27th May: A Strategy for Managing Stress with Devika Nadig & Sri Vijay Gupta

    The session on ‘A Strategy for Managing Stress’, will elaborate on six strategies for managing stress, which help us deal with situations when abilities do not match what is expected of us. 
  • 28th May: A Strategy for Motivating Students for Learning with Devika Nadig & Sri Vijay Gupta

    The session will point out factors that motivate students and suggest ways to incorporate elements in your teaching-plan with a promise of engaging every student in learning.
  • 29th May: A Strategy for Developing Habits of the Mind with Devika Nadig & Sri Vijay Gupta

    The session on ‘A Strategy for Developing Habits of the Mind’ will deal with 14 windows of intellectual behaviours, and suggest ways in which these can become a natural habit of the mind, leading towards character development.
  • 30th May: Planning Lessons for Virtual Classrooms with Vishaka Venkat

    This session will look at planning for innovative and interactive online lessons. Teachers will be introduced to digital tools to implement the various stages of their usual lessons in virtual classrooms. The session will also touch upon strategies to ensure that the classes remain learner-centred and suggest ways to solve the major obstacles.
  • 31st May: Assessing Learners Online with Neethu S. Kumar

    This session will give an overview of a few digital tools and strategies for formative and summative assessment in the virtual mode. It will help teachers, not only in successfully delivering their usual assessments online but also in using technology to cater to the different learner styles and needs. The session will also discuss the challenges faced with assessing virtually and possible solutions for the same.
