Upcoming Session:
Pt. Raghunandan Panshikar is a leading vocalist of Hindustani classical music today. He belongs to the Jaipur-Atrauli Gharana of Khayal music. He is a disciple of Ganasaraswati Kishori Amonkar. He has rightfully earned his place among the topmost vocalists of his generation. Pt. Raghunandan’s command over semi-classical genres (Thumri, Ghazal, Bhajan, Abhang, Natya Sangeet, Bhaavgeet etc.) accounts for his versatility and singularity among Hindustani vocalists. Besides his classical performances, he has worked as a playback singer and is an excellent composer. He has earned accolades for original music score for the Marathi play ‘Avagha Ranga Ekachi Jala’. He has been honoured with numerous awards.
To engage him in the conversation, we have Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth’s Sri. Swapnil Chaphekar, Assistant Professor of Hindustani vocal music. The conversation will unfold the musical journey of Pt. Raghunandan to inspire the students and audience to follow musical ventures.
The talk will be followed by a Q&A session. Select questions from the viewers will be addressed.
